{"id":2878,"date":"2022-04-08T22:25:21","date_gmt":"2022-04-08T22:25:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.xximrecords.com\/?p=2878"},"modified":"2022-05-19T10:36:50","modified_gmt":"2022-05-19T10:36:50","slug":"eydis-evensens-new-ep-frost-out-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/projects.45press.com\/cms.xximrecords.com\/news\/eydis-evensens-new-ep-frost-out-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Eyd\u00eds Evensen&#8217;s new EP Frost out now"},"content":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2878","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"acf":{"feature":false,"image":2773,"artist":[238],"release":[2770],"content1":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Eyd\u00eds Evensen released her new EP\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Frost<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, inspired by her homeland's harsh and dramatic winters. \"It's such a hard thing to go through, this darkness,\" she explains, \"but the rising of the sun earlier and earlier as spring nears is hugely important for Icelanders.\"\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">From the single and EP opener\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Numb<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, representing the fragility and the onset of winter, to\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Svartn\u00e6tti<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0\u2013 a word that describes the darkest nights of winter, Evensen then presents\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Dawn is Near<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, a symbol of the warmth that starts to creep in as the days lengthen.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Eyd\u00eds Evensen and Einar Egils, creator of the <\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Dawn is Near<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> film, wanted to \"visually capture all tenses whilst moving throughout a story evolving from personal trauma into peace and acceptance at the break of dawn.\"\u2060<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A metaphor for the past two years reflects in\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Frost<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">: \"It's like a journey through darker moments, but seeing that there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's very representative of what we've all gone through, and a renewed sense of hope.\"\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The EP closes the single The Light I, leading the listener into spring and the return of life to the land. It is the most recently composed piece then, written and recorded as positivity \u2013 and something approaching normality \u2013 slowly started to return.
