{"id":4770,"date":"2023-05-26T12:27:51","date_gmt":"2023-05-26T12:27:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.xximrecords.com\/?p=4770"},"modified":"2023-05-26T12:38:14","modified_gmt":"2023-05-26T12:38:14","slug":"eydis-evensen-releases-new-album-the-light","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/projects.45press.com\/cms.xximrecords.com\/news\/eydis-evensen-releases-new-album-the-light\/","title":{"rendered":"Eyd\u00eds Evensen releases new album The Light"},"content":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-4770","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"acf":{"feature":true,"image":4773,"artist":[238],"release":[4749],"content1":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Icelandic pianist and composer Eyd\u00eds Evensen released her second album,\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Light<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Evensen cites two underlying themes in\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Light<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">: it is both a deep reflection on the rough landscapes of Iceland and how they have shaped her personality, as it is an expression of deepest emotions.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\"To me,\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Light<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> is a sense of hope and a sense of lighter times as we all experience quite challenging times in the last couple of years. I composed this album inspired by a personal experience and a resolution to that experience, so it sort of gave me a sense of closure, and the sense of relief and I hope that the listener is able to go through this journey with me throughout the album,\" explains Evensen.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Evensen also extended her artistry and composed the first choir piece, <\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Light II<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\"I've been writing poetry for quite some years, and I've always been fascinated by the world of choirs, especially here in Iceland. We have some really fantastic choir pieces. One of my favorites is <em>Heyr himna simi\u00f0r<\/em>, and I was especially inspired by that piece, and it had been a dream of mine to compose a choir piece.\"<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The continuation of <em>The Light II<\/em> is the piece <em>Dreaming of Light<\/em>, one of the last on the album, which is out today with a <em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zpiQK5cxMrQ\">music video<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/em>.
