Born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jonathan moved to Nashville in 2006 to attend Belmont University. While studying at Belmont, Jonathan struck up a friendship with fellow songwriter, Jason Ingram, which served as the catalyst for his first publishing deal with Essential Music Publishing in 2012.\u00a0 Shortly after, Jonathan became an integral part of signing fellow Jonesboro-native Zach Williams to a record deal at Provident Label Group, ushering in 2017\u2019s massively impactful RIAA Platinum\u00ae single \u201cChain Breaker,\u201d co-written by the two along with Mia Fieldes. Jonathan proceeded to garner more songwriting success via a remarkable series of culture-shaping radio singles including Tauren Wells\u2019 \u201cHills &amp; Valleys,\u201d Matthew West\u2019s \u201cThe God Who Stays\u201d and the Top 5 CCLI song \u201cHouse of the Lord\u201d recorded by Phil Wickham and \u201cGlorious Day\u201d recorded by Passion. In 2022 Jonathan was awarded the BMI Christian Song of the Year for \u201cThere Was Jesus\u201d recorded by Zach Williams and Dolly Parton.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan lives in Franklin, TN with his wife Anna and their children Lindley, Holland and Barrett.
